Reggie Williams returns to Seattle Sports

April 28, 2010

Reggie Williams will return to Seattle as a Seahawk this upcoming season.

Williams was a star wide receiver  at the University of Washington.  He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars  as the 9th pick of the 2oo4 draft, according to the NFL, and played well during the five-year contract.

Williams has earned a “second chance” as a Seahawk, according to Seattle Times writer Danny O’Niel.   The article on O’Niel’s blog talks about how Williams didn’t get a new contract after playing for Jacksonville, and fell into legal trouble after two drug-related arrests in Texas.

After one year of probation, Williams is back on the market and ready to try his wings as a Seahawk.  He earned a one-year contract after a three-day mini camp in April.

Williams may still have what it takes to be a power player in Seattle.  His 2007 season boasts 10 touchdown catches, a Jaguars record, and an average of 16.6 yards per catch, which ranked him no. 18 just below Terrell Owens.
