For all of us that received UW President Mark Emmert’s e-mail yesterday, the news was no doubt a surprise.  However, when the numbers are considered, Emmert’s move is no surprise at all.   

Emmert earns more than $905,00 per year, according to Yahoo! news, which ranked second among presidents for public universities.   He will likely earn more at the NCAA.  Emmert will succeed the late Myles Brand, who reportedly earned $1.7 million per year.  Read the rest of this entry »

Reggie Williams returns to Seattle Sports

Reggie Williams will return to Seattle as a Seahawk this upcoming season.

Williams was a star wide receiver  at the University of Washington.  He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars  as the 9th pick of the 2oo4 draft, according to the NFL, and played well during the five-year contract.

‘Dubs’ is the Ultimate Pet Mascott

The University of Washington’s mascot won first place in this year’s 2010 NCAA Mascot Tournament, according to petside.com.  The Alaskan Malamute, Dubs, beat out 15 other competitors to claim the title.

Voters at petside.com, after four rounds of intense competition, elected Dubs to be the Ultimate Pet Mascot. 

Dubs is the thirteenth live mascot of the University of Washington.  He made his official debut during the 2009 football season when he was just 3 months old.
